Easy Slow cooker Apple Sauce

Slow Cooker Apple Sauce

I have been meaning to do a big batch of Apple sauce for Donuts, muffins and to add to our chia and now its getting cooler- slowcooked porridge. So I bought a load of apples and peeled and cored them (for my apple cider vinegar) and threw them in ths slow cooker! The apples we get here (Hong Kong doesnt have local apples we have to rely on imports from New Zealand and US) are Gala, Red Delicious and Envy. We also get green apples but with the reds- at least I dont need to sweeten the sauce at all. Use whatever blend of apples you love and are probably delicious and local!

10-12 Apples (peeled and cored)

2 tsp Cinnamon

Tsp salt (pink Himalayan)

apples slow cooked

In a slow cooker on Low for 3 hours. I just use a wooden spoon to break up the apples but you could also puree them with a hand blender. I love that there are no nutrients lost. You could also finish it off with a dollup of butter or coconut oil. Into a glass jar when cooled and can be stored in the fridge. You can also freeze portion sizes.

Here is a sneak peak at my son getting excited that the jar was at his height while I was taking a pic- I mix some of the sauce with some hemp seeds for a delicious snack for him!
