Ear Acupuncture has been a recognised treatment for over 5000 years, as an integral component of traditional Chinese Acupuncture. However it wasn’t until the 1950's when a French Physician, Dr Paul Nogier, began to use Ear Acupuncture, as a treatment, drawing up an “ear point map” which is still in general use today. 

Ear Acupuncture now is used in the diagnosis and treatment of over 200 disorders and is recognized by bodies like the World Health Organisation, in the treatment of many ailments. There are studies to back up their most popular uses:

Ear Acupuncture is analogous with Reflexology. The ear is a microcosm of the body and the body’s systems. Ear Acupuncture is a therapy which is simple, safe and effective, with almost no side-effects or physical damage. It can be carried out in almost any environment, requiring no specialised equipment or arrangements. Effective results can be realised even after only one session, however a course of treatment, which can be assessed after consultation, is recommended.

The only “instruments” used in the treatment are small, fine, sterilised needles (which are disposable) which are inserted just under the surface of the skin, to stimulate the body to achieve balance, harmony and focus on wellness, whilst encouraging the mind and body to reach optimum performance, which is why people like Kate Moss, Matt Damon and Helena Bonham Carter, are said to be devotees.
