Edward Bach worked in orthodox medicine as a surgeon, bacteriologist and was a Harley Street consultant for 20 years, before being drawn to alternative therapies, and in particular - homeopathy. He believed the symptoms of an illness were the external expression of negative emotional states, and that such affected the human body physically as well as mentally, initiating the disease process:

"Health depends on being in harmony with our souls" (Dr. Edward Bach 1932).

Therefore, by making the person happier, grounded and more positive, our whole being opens up to what life and work has to offer, enriching the experience and extending it to its full potential.

He developed a simple system of 38 Flower remedies, the most famous blend being Rescue Remedy. The remedies contain a very small amount of flower essence, in a water solution. The remedies are used primarily for easing emotional and spiritual conditions, including

• Stress
• Anger
• Fear
• Resistance to change
• Inability to live in the present.

Stress presents itself in different way to each and every one of us.
